The Second National Franchise Expo

The Second National Franchise Expo was held in Warsaw, in the Palace of Culture and Science on 16-18th June 2004. The main goal of Franchise Exhibition was to promote franchising as the way for running own business and to contact franchisors with potential franchisees.

According to the organizers' estimates, the fair was visited by approximately 1500 guests. The interest in franchising in Poland is still increasing: there are more than 160 franchising networks and more than 11.000 franchisees.

On the first day of the fair the Educational Forum Franchise as a way to success was held. The lectures dealt with the typical problems of the franchising market. The speakers were:

  • Grzegorz Chmielarski, the president of Polish Franchise Association, director of franchise department at McDonald's Polska
  • Kazimiera Krawczyk, CEO of Adidas Poland
  • Arkadiusz Słodkowski, the director of PROFIT system
  • Bernadetta Fuchs from Silesian University in Katowice
  • Michał Wiśniewski, the operations director of PROFIT system

The workshop concerning EU structural funds took place on the second day. The participants could acquaint themselves, among others, with the rules of crediting the companies using structural funds as well as with the conditions of supporting the enterprises creating new investments. The last day was devoted to the presentations of franchisors taking part in Salon.

It was good, it will be better

The Second National Franchise Expo was broadly announced by business media: franchise magazine Wlasny Biznes FRANCHISING, franchise portal franchising.pl Puls Biznesu, Businessman Magazine, Gazeta Prawna and Wiadomości Handlowe. The event was reported by Polish TV Channel 1 and Channel 3 and Polish Radio Channel 1.

The visitors were interested in all of the networks, even those where the investment is more than PLN 500 000, approx. Euro 100.000 (Dr Irena Eris's Cosmetics Laboratory). Definietely FotoStop and Videomat were real record holders - their stands were queued almost all the time.

- There were so many visitors that we often talked with four people at the same time. I talked without a break and my throat was most of the time dry. Despite the fact that already passed a few days from the event, we are still meeting with people who learnt about our offer at the Salon - said Łukasz Rekłajtis, the regional sales manager of Videomat.

- We had a lot of visitors. I think that thanks to participation in the Salon we will be able to find a number of new franchisees. I have only one remark: in my opinion promotion of the Salon could be better - affirmed Karol Hańczak, director of Perfect Lady.

- I'm contented with participation in the fair. Our stand visited people who among many networks looked for an idea for own business, but also people who arrived specially to meet with our company. We had a lot of work to do and in one week after the exhibition we we signed two new franchise agreements - said Martyna Fon, Public Ralation Manager of Nicole network.

The Second National Franchising Salon hosted more than 20 franchise and licensing systems:

The Salon was organized by the consulting comapny PROFIT system, a member of Horwath Franchising, specializing in franchise consultancy and MTPolska, professional fairs organizer. The Salon was held under the auspices of Polish Franchise Association.
